5 Easy Hairstyles You Can Do At Home

Having difficulty figuring out what to do with your hair everyday? We’ve created 5 easy hairstyle guides for you to get salon quality style in the comfort of your own home. These are simple to achieve, and work for a variety of occasions, from work to wow!

The Messy Bun

This works best on second or third day hair to create a nice messy texture for the bun. Start with curled hair. We’ve used a 25mm curling tong to add texture to the locks.

Step 1:

Pull your hair into a loose ponytail. Don’t make it too perfect, the look is suppose be effortless.

Step 2:

Separate your ponytail into 2-3 sections and tease each section. This will give you volume and the messy texture for your bun so it doesn’t look too sleek.

Step 3:

After teasing your hair, separate each of your sections into 2 sections and start wrapping the hair in opposite directions.

Step 4:

Using bobby pins, start securing your bun an inch from the bottom of your strands, don’t pin too neatly - have a few strands fraying so that it creates the messy effect.

Step 5:

Finish off with strong hold hair spray.

Quick Tip

If the bun is feeling too tight, use your hands to pull it gently apart.

Half Up Half Down

Step 1:

Start by curling your hair in any way you wish. We’re using the Curl Secret Multi Curl.

Once the hair is curled, brush out your curls gently to give it a softer and fuller look.

Step 2:

Separate your hair at the crown area, and using a comb or a smoothing brush, start teasing your hair in sections towards your scalp.

Step 3:

With the section you’ve just teased, smooth the hair over to cover the teasing. Secure the top section with a hair tie.

Step 4:

To hide the hair tie, separate a section of hair in front of your ear and twist it towards the back to cover it and secure with a bobby pin.

Step 5:

Spritz hair spray to hold the style in place.

Side Swept Braid

Step 1:

Start with curled hair, we’ve used a 38mm curler . Don’t forget to use the safety glove to protect your hands from the heat!

Step 2:

Part your hair to either the right or left side (whichever side you prefer).

Step 3:

You can either do a loose french braid or a messy braid starting from the nape of the neck.

Step 4:

Take a few pieces from the front sections of your hair to frame your face and touch up with the curler, creating the soft effortless look.

Step 5:

Finish your style off with medium-hold hairspray and smooth down any flyaways.

Sleek Ponytail

For this style it’s best to start with clean washed hair.

Step 1:

Use a hair straightener to smooth your hair. We used the 3Q Digital Straightener.

Step 2:

Gather your hair right below the crown of your head while still smoothing the hair out. The brush will help knock out any static hair and make your hair sleek.

Step 3:

Secure your ponytail with a matching coloured hair tie.

Step 4:

If you have any flyaways or any hair sticking out, use hairspray to smooth it out to achieve that sleek and smooth finish.

Step 5:

This step is optional but this will polish up your ponytail. Take a small section from underneath your ponytail and wrap it around your hair tie. Secure with a bobby pin underneath to conceal its appearance.

Fishtail Braid

This style is perfect for fresh or even second to third day hair. To create a strong foundation for your fishtail braid, use a hair dryer to blow out any kinks and create a smooth finish, we’ve used the 3Q Brushless Digital Dryer.

Step 1:

Start by securing your hair to the side with a disposable elastic or hair tie.

Step 2:

Divide your ponytail into two equal sections. You will now have two smaller sized ponytails.

Step 3:

With the left smaller ponytail, take a half-inch section of hair from the outside, pulling this piece across the top of the left ponytail over to the right ponytail making sure you don’t twist it when you bring it across.

Step 4:

Repeat step 3 however with the right smaller ponytail and repeat the motion in the opposite direction.

Step 5:

Repeat steps 3-4 until you run out of hair. If it turns out to be a little messy that’s okay, this will create a textured look.

Step 6:

Secure the end of your fishtail braid with a hair band. With the band at the top of the braid you can cut it if it’s a disposable band  or simply remove your hair tie.
