But, with the right techniques, the right tools and a little bit of patience you can transform your flat, lifeless locks into voluminous, head-turning hair.

1. It’s all about the right tools…

When it comes to creating volume, the right tools are key! You want to add volume to the roots and bounce to the mids and ends and you can’t do that if you’re not using the best tools for your hair type and desired outcome.

2. Proper prep is key

Before you go in with your styling tool of choice, it’s important to properly prep your hair to maximise volume! Start with clean, towel-dried hair and add in a volumising mousse or spray to the roots for added lift. Blow-dry your hair up side down to create even more volume from the base. 

3. Try different techniques 

There’s a heap of different techniques you can use to add volume to your hair, and just because something works for one person – it doesn’t mean it will work for you! It’s all about trial and error when it comes to finding the perfect technique. These are some of our favourites. 

Root Lift Technique 

This one works best if you have a hair dryer with a concentrator nozzle like the Infiniti AC Dryer! Simply flip your hair upside down and focus the airflow on your roots. Lift sections with your fingers as you dry to ensure you create max volume.  

Try Curls 

Master a Blow-Out

A blow-out is a sure fire way to add volume to your hair and our range of hot air stylers make it oh so simply to master! Use a round brush attachment to lift the roots whilst drying and then wrap sections around the barrel to create soft waves that add texture, body and volume. 

Add the finishing touches 

Once you’ve finished styling your hair, lock in volume and tame flyaways by using a lightweight, volumising hairspray. Avoid weighing down your hair with heavy products post styling as this can flatten your hair and diminish all your hard work! 

To keep your hair looking fabulous all day long, consider having a volumising dry shampoo on hand to give the roots a quick refresh throughout the day. Also keep a wide tooth comb handy so you can brush through your hair regularly to prevent flatness.
