How to

  1. Apply a heat protecting or thermal iron spray or smooth styling product to your clean hair before you dry it as this will help you achieve a better ironed finish.
  2. For quick and simple hair drying begin by rough drying your hair and follow by using either a hairdryer and paddle brush or the Hair Designer™ 2000 Before you begin curling, ensure your hair is 100% completely dry and comb it through to prevent knots and tangles.
  3. Divide your hair into 4 sections (2 back and 2 front) using hair clips for easy styling and further sectioning. At the front make your normal parting at the top of the sections.
  4. Starting at the nape with one of the back sections take small sections (about 1 to 2 cm square for a tighter curl or 2 to 4 cm square for a looser curl).
  5. Insert the straightener at the base of the section near the scalp vertically but not on it to avoid burning yourself.
  6. Clamp the plates of the iron over the hair and turn it 180º bending the hair around the iron before slowly gliding the iron evenly along the length of the section from root to tip.
  7. As the tips of the hair fall from the iron sit the curl neatly into place by taking the ends of the section you have just curled and turning them in the direction of the curl to reform it and allow it to set as it cools.
  8. Repeat as necessary. You can vary the size of the sections for a more textured look.
  9. Finish with a styling aid such as hairspray to set the curls in place.
  10. Finally, loosen the curls by separating with your fingers until your desired result is achieved.
