One length haircuts like the bob or hair styles that sit just above or on the shoulder look great slightly turned under at the ends. Once the length of your hair goes past the shoulder, the hair will separate and you loose the effect of turning them under and are better off going for a dead straight look or a curly hair style.
For the latest ‘on trend’ look, the turn under is more of a slight bevel rather than a fully turned under shape and to do this we find a slim plate straightening iron to be the best styling tool. Simply follow the straight blowdrying techniques and straight ironing technique how-to’s and finally as you glide your straightening iron towards the very ends of your hair, twist your wrist very slightly no more than 90° or the bend will be too much. Use your straightening iron horizontally at the ends of your hair and simply clamp around the hair and turn your wrist to create a slight bend. This will give your hairstyle that sleek professional finish.
Tips for using the Hair Designers to curl the ends under on longer hair:
- Select the horizontal position on the straightener attachment.
- Separate the hair into equal sections about 5cm wide. Place the dryer (detangling comb facing down) under the section of the hair.
- With a slight twisting motion of the wrist, turn the appliance under and slide it slowly towards the ends of the hair, using your free hand to turn the hair up.
- Hold it for 5 to 10 seconds; this will allow the tourmaline ceramic slides and ceramic smoothing plate to give you the maximum effect.
- Repeat process if necessary and finish with a push of the cool shot button for better hold.
