Using a Hairdryer with a Diffuser

Using a Hairdryer with a Diffuser

The volumising diffuser attachment is designed to build life and volume into short to medium length hair, for drying any length of naturally curly hair and for scrunch drying to build and enhance curl in wavy and loose curly hair.

A diffuser should always be used on the lowest speed setting and lowest heat setting of your hair dryer to prevent the hair becoming too frizzy on the surface and to enable it to operate at its most efficient as the diffuser works by softening the air flow from the hairdryer.

Tips:

To build volume in shorter hair lengths – apply a root volumising spray directly to the roots of the hair and then dry your hair by massaging the roots whilst cupping the hair in the diffuser. Tipping your head to the side or upside down works well to build volume whilst you are doing this.

To dry curly hair – a mousse or curl enhancing wet product is perfect for helping to achieve a more crisp naturally curly result with a diffuser. Cup the weight of your hair into the bowl of the diffuser and cup the hair at the edges of the diffuser with your free hand to prevent it blowing around. Try to handle your hair as little as possible to keep your curl intact. Finally allow the hair to cool before separating the curls with your fingers.

To get more curl from wavy or loose natural curls – a firm mousse or curl enhancing wet product is a necessity as without it the curls will drop out quickly. Tip your hair to the side and scrunch it section by section following with the diffuser. To finish spray the hair, with a light hold hair spray, for extra hold if needed before you shape and position it with your hands. Do not brush the hair as this will pull the curl out.
