Sleek MohawkVS Style - The Sleek, Sexy Mohawk
"Never has a Mohawk looked more feminine. We started to see the genesis of this look at the Oscars. Jennifer Garner rocked it with her version. Now this is mine. It’s slightly smoother and more sophisticated than Jen’s look, more runway high fashion but the spirit is the same", Emiliano Vitale, eSalon, editorial and multi-award winning stylist.
Steps to creating this look at home:
- Dry your hair and then straighten using the Academy Tools Straightener with SolTEC™ Ceramic coating, trust me you can do it yourself in a second. It glides flawlessly through the hair for the ultimate soft, shiny finish.
- Section your hair at the front into 3 sections, two side sections and one top section. Pin the top section out of the way to style later.
- Using a good quality cushion brush, smooth the side sections straight back and secure with a bobby pin one side at a time, flattly to the head, just under the crown. Use hair spray to help hold in place.
- Style the top section by adding a little back brushing to give it some volume.
- Take the section and brush it back so it's smooth, without taking out too much volume you created by back brushing.
- Smooth the section over the pinned area to hide the side pins and blend with the lengths at the back.
- Finally use the odd bobby or hair pin to secure this section from the sides and plenty of hair spray.
