The Raw Bun

VS Style - The Raw Bun

"The inspiration behind this look is the hair at the Nicole Farhi Autumn/winter 2010 London Fashion Week. It was done by world renowned stylist Antoinette Benders.

Of course this is my version but I have to pay tribute to her genius", Emiliano Vitale, eSalon, editorial and multi-award winning stylist.

Steps to creating this look at home:

  1. Wrap dry the hair to smooth and straight whilst retaining volume. When using the Academy Tools Dryer as we are here, use the ultra slim concentrator nozzles for controlled, smooth salon finishing: 90mm for styling larger sections and 70mm for precise styling. With the anti-wrap fan design to minimise hair blockage, the Academy Tools Dryer makes doing wrap drying yourself easy.
  2. Once dry, take the hair back into a ponytail and secure with an elastic.
  3. Back brush the ponytail creating a soft full texture with plenty of dimension. With the last stroke, lightly smooth the top surface of the ponytail.
  4. Wrap the hair around your hand and create a chignon, securing it underneath with bobby pins. It's so easy anyone can do it. And everyone should give it a go.
  5. Once secured gently pull out pieces to give that real RAW lived in texture.

"I am passionate that hair doesn’t intimidate people. Creating any style is about learning the steps involved and having the right tools and products. Once you have those elements in place there is no reason why you can’t go for any look you want".
